Mission Statement for Artists
Our goal is to create profiles and sell albums for the top 2,500 independent artists
in the country. We want to create a valuable tool in connecting your band with new
fans as well as create a platform to distribute both digital and hard copies of
your music. Our concept is essentially a mix between Myspace and CDbaby, but without
all the spamming and bad music. We are non-exclusive, meaning that you are welcome,
and encouraged, to use other sites to sell cd’s and merch and promote your music.
We simply want to reduce the size of the current available online music communities
by inviting only the top independent music and in so doing create a place where
listeners can truly shop for new up and coming music.

Our goal is to create a place where you can browse and purchase the best up and
coming independent artists. We want to be the first site to allow your online purchases
to be available anytime you login. Every album you purchase is automatically loaded
into your playlist and you can access it even when you don’t have your iPod or CD’s.
All you need is your password. We hope you take advantage of our messaging tools,
knowing that you won’t be bombarded with friend requests and spam, but allowed to
befriend and communicate with the bands and friends of your choice.

1. What is BreakingBand?Top
BreakingBand is an interactive site for friendship and the distribution of music.
A place where bands can sell their albums online, where fans and artists can communicate,
where fans can listen to their album purchases, and a place to find out about new
up and coming talent. Because we are looking for the top 50 artists in every state,
you won’t waste time sifting through bad music to find something you like. And as
a band, you are instantly part of a community of artists who are just as talented
and who work just as hard as you to create quality independent music.
2. How much does it cost for an artist to sign

There is no charge to the artist when signing up. We will help create your profile and
upload your albums at no charge.
3. How must does it cost to become a member?Top
Becoming a member of BreakingBand is free. Simply create a profile and you are now
able to purchase albums, communicate with bands and other fans, and manage your
playlist.
4. How much does it cost to sell albums on BreakingBand?Top
For every album you sell on our site we charge a flat rate of $3.00. This charge
compensates us for the time it takes to put your discs in the mail and to maintain
a site that allows your fans to instantly access their purchased albums. For digital
releases we take a 10% of the sale.
5. How can my band access our income?Top
There are a number of ways to access your profit. Your dollars are managed in your
dashbard and called BandBucks. A BandBuck is the equivalent of 1 US dollar. You can cash in your band bucks for a check in the mail or apply your BandBucks towards
purchases such as T-Shirts, CD Duplication, guitar strings, and much more.
